Today GCIR announced the launch of its new Web site at www.gcir.org. The site contains a wealth of information and publications on immigrant- and refugee-related issues, including civic participation, literacy, and health care. In future phases of the site, members will have private access to some features and will be able to network with each other and manage their own memberships directly online.
GCIR's site is a great example of how Drupal, a very robust open-source content management system, can be used to manage a large amount of information and help users easily find what they're seeking. GCIR also makes use of CiviCRM, an open-source constituent relationship management database that is designed for nonprofits, and can be integrated with Drupal.
This site is a joint effort between GCIR, Grand Junction Design (who did all of the Drupal and CiviCRM configuration and content management), and Rick Elizaga (who created the beautiful, clean and easy-to-use graphical interface).
