Congratulations to the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation (CERF) on their new website! CERF's goal is to help people understand and appreciate the Earth's estuaries and coasts, and to encourage the wise use and management of these environments.
CERF came to us looking to replace their current Web site with one that was more modern, flexible and expandable, and provide more channels for members and other constituents to participate and find information. It was critical that the site be easy to use (both for the general public and for CERF staff), and that staff members be able to manage the content easily. We at Grand Junction Design were very happy to have helped CERF build their new site using the Drupal content management system to achieve these goals. Drupal allows CERF to now manage their content much more efficiently and to present the information in a clear, yet visually engaging way.
A couple of significant improvements that Drupal was able to add to the CERF website were a way for staff members to moderate new job listings that people submit to their website, and a way to organize all of their newsletters and other types of content. We were also able to use the Node Import Module to quickly and easily transfer their content from their old site to their new site.
In addition to the functional improvements to the CERF website, CERF will benefit from the new visual design that we were able to provide for them through our relationship with Rick Elizaga Design. Check out these before and after shots!
