Barker Foundation Launches New Drupal Website

Congratulations to the Barker Foundation on the launch of their new website! The Barker Foundation is a nonprofit serving all members of the adoption circle – birth parents, adoptive parents, adopted persons, and anyone whose life is touched by adoption. The Barker Foundation is a committed advocate for ethical, respectful and child-centered adoption practices.

We at Grand Junction Design are very happy to have helped the Barker Foundation build their new site using the Drupal content management system. Drupal allows the Barker Foundation to manage their content much more efficiently and to present the information in a clear, yet visually engaging way.

For example, their old site had just a simple list of upcoming events; but on the new Drupal site we set up an events calendar, and used the Signup module to allow users to register for events straight from the links on the calendar. We also integrated the Signup module with Ubercart so users can not only register for events, but pay for them online as well. This will greatly enhance Barker's current event registration process by eliminating the time spent taking numerous phone calls for event registration, and also giving them the ability to collect all of the event registration records in one convenient place.

Another great improvement Drupal brings to the site is a webform that integrates with Family Builder, a special service for adoption agencies to keep track of all their contacts and requests for information.

On top of all these great functional improvements, the Barker Foundation will benefit from the fresh visual design that we were able to provide for them. Compare:
