Margaux O'Malley, President
Margaux is one of the co-founders of Grand Junction Design. She is responsible for overseeing client projects and procuring new work.
She graduated from Carleton College in 1997 with a BA in Latin American Studies and Spanish. A year teaching and a year working in the (very much) for-profit sector made it clear that she needed to be doing something toward making the world a better place and championing such progressive causes as affordable housing, human rights and saving the environment. In 1999 she took a job with Neighborhood Funders Group and started down that path, and since then she's worked with a variety of groups to further these causes.
Her personal focus is on environmental sustainability. She enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors. In her family and in GJD, she makes every effort to consider the environmental impact of each action and decision, and to teach her children to do the same.
Matthew O'Malley, Vice President
Matthew is one of the co-founders of Grand Junction Design. He is a designer and programmer, and now spends most of his time working with the Drupal content management system. Matthew designs web sites and creates Flash animations, in addition to developing databases and web applications. He is also experienced in developing section 508 compliant (accessible) web sites.
He received a history degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and an MA in literature from NYU. After serving in the public sector as a webmaster and web developer for the DC government for several years, he left to pursue more direct nonprofit efforts by working for individual progressive organizations with GJD.
Amanda O'Malley, Project Manager
Amanda earned her BS in Marketing from George Mason University in 2008. She combines her knowledge of business and marketing with her interest in online and nonprofit marketing and communication strategies. Amanda manages design and development projects and specializes in analytics and information architecture. During her time working for GJD, Amanda has also developed her skills in creating effective visual designs, as well as using Drupal as a tool to help nonprofits get the most from their online presence.
Jeannette Modic, Drupal Specialist
Jeannette earned her BA in Computer Science from Goucher College in 2005. While attending Goucher she learned the importance of being a global citizen and has always wanted to work with non-profit organizations. She specializes in using the Drupal content management system to create easy-to-use, effective web sites for our clients. She is also our CiviCRM guru, and often works with clients on using this tool to improve their constituent relationship management and communications.
Carolyn Kaminski, User Experience Designer
Carolyn earned her BA in History at Northeastern University.
Through working in both sales and marketing and on website re-design in the for-profit world, Carolyn gained an understanding of the client's perspective on working with design and technology companies. She is now applying these lessons with GJD's clients in the non-profit sector.
Carolyn joined the GJD team in 2008, and was excited to work in a green office that is genuine in its environmental goals. Carolyn specializes in Interaction Design, Usability and Information Architecture. Carolyn works on the design, organization, theming, and site building of Drupal sites, always keeping web standards and best practices in mind.
Ron Williams, Drupal Developer
Ron has been working with Drupal since 2005. As an active member of the Drupal community, Ron has contributed multiple themes, security fixes, and pieces of documentation, and he is the founder of the Maryland Drupal Group.
